On Saturday, November 30, 2024, TEDx University of Zakho successfully took place at Kochka Honari Hall. This event represented a significant achievement for Zakho, showcasing the innovation and intellectual curiosity for which TEDx is known. It was the result of eleven months of hard work by a dedicated team of volunteers from Zakho University, local institutions, and the Zakho Independent Administration, all collaborating to bring this global platform to their community.
The TEDx ceremony was meticulously organized, adhering to global TEDx standards and attended by a diverse audience. The event commenced with welcoming speeches from Mr. Masood Hameed, the TEDx organizer, and Mr. Guhdar Shexo, the Head of Zakho Independent Administration. A live Kurdish folklore performance by the Dengbêjî —Roj Music Team added a cultural touch before twelve inspiring speakers took the stage, sharing profound messages and captivating the audience with their experiences.
